I. Pre-concert sound-check
1. If the venue has sufficiently good acoustics for the ensemble’s instruments, a short acoustic run-through is required, to last at least 15 minutes before the house is open to the public.
2. If the venue’s acoustics are not sufficient for our instruments, amplifying equipment of the required quality should be used (to achieve natural, undistorted sound).
3. The amplifying equipment should be ready for a run-through at least 1.5 hours prior to the start of the concert.
4. The sound engineer should preferably be experienced in working with acoustic instruments.
II. Concert (stage)
1. On the stage – three standard chairs, without arms, of identical color, sturdy, which do not creak (see layout of chairs, instruments and microphones on stage)
2. If amplifying equipment is used, five microphones are required for the instruments and one for introducing each piece of music.
Microphones:
a) Soprano domra –condenser microphone Shure SM 57 or (AKG CK451)
b) Domra alto –condenser microphone Shure SM 57or (AKG CK451)
c) Double-bass balalaika - Shure SM 58 beta or (Shure SM 98
(clip on))
d) Bayan accordion - two condenser microphones Shure SM 57 or (AKG CK451)
3. Four music-stands.
4. Lighting should be simple and bright, so that the musicians’ faces are visible. Lighting is to be regulated before the concert begins and must not be changed during the concert. Low-level lighting should be switched on in the audience seating area.
5. The temperature on stage should not be below 17°C and not exceed 30°C.
6. During the actual performance, especially where no amplifying equipment is used, please make sure that there is silence both backstage and in the audience area. Any movements should be limited to the interval or during applause.
7. If the stage is outdoors, provision must be made for no rain or sun rays to fall onto the instruments.
III. Dressing room
1. A large, light, clean, warm and comfortable room located not far from the stage. The room must not be a walk-through room.
2. The room should have at least one mirror, eight chairs, a table, four clean towels, two large coat-stands for our costumes and coats, and an iron.
3. The temperature in the room should be between 20°C and 28°C. This temperature may be maintained by air conditioners, fans or heaters.
4. The room should be lockable, and the keys to the room should be held by the musicians at all times. If this is impossible, a security guard must be present at all times.
5. Hot tea, coffee, sugar and mineral water (still) or pure fruit juice (2 liters) must be provided to the room, as well as cheese sandwiches, biscuits, sweets, fruit (apples, pears, bananas, grapes).
Hotel: 4-stars (European rating system).
If 4 people are traveling, 4 single rooms. If 5 people are traveling – 3 single rooms and 1 double room.
The hotel must have a Wi- Fi connection.
Refreshments: One hot meal before or after the concert, as the musicians choose. NB! All the musicians are vegetarians (although they do eat fish) and do not drink alcohol.
Transportation: A personal minibus is required throughout the ensemble’s stay in a town. This minibus must be dedicated only to Terem Quartet throughout their stay.
Air transport: Organizers buying one flight tickets for balalaika-contrabass or have to pay overweight luggage of 50 kg. Organizers have to agree on this question with Artists in advance. Organizers buying tickets for Terem Quartet must order vegetarian in-flight meals (such meals may include fish). If the musicians arrive in town before the 12.00 the promoters have to provide the breakfast for musicians. If the musicians have a late flight and the hotel is booked till 12.00 present day the promoters have to provide 1 single room in hotel for all group.
Organization of sale CDs:
The Promoter shall provide for the sale of the Artists CDs and other merchandise a table one metre in length and placed in a prominent position. The Promoter shall also provide at least one person to assist with the sale of such items before the concert, during the interval of the concert and after the concert.
Video, audio and TV recording:
No recording or broadcasting of the performance may be made without permission the Terem-Quartet.
Photo, posters and texts:
No photos, no posters and advertising texts of the Terem-Quartet may be use without permission the press service of Terem-Quartet.
The photos and posters to be used will be agreed between the parties no later than two month before the performance date. In case of using unauthorized photos, posters and wrong family names of musicians the Promoter have to pay a penalty at the rate of 3000$.
This rider shall be construed as being an integral part of the contract to which it is attached and both parties thereto shall initial each page of this rider and affix their signatures to the final page hereof. Promoter agrees to provide the following pursuant to the contract hereto attached and the Artist agrees that the provisions contained herein are adequate and sufficient.
